Health Care
As we all await the Supreme Court Ruling in June, CFMA is working on keeping you informed! We are planning a panel discussion in October on the State of Healthcare and what we can expect after the Supreme Court Ruling: Tax Implications; W2 Requirements (New!); your annual health care plan renewal. We are scheduled for a breakfast meeting with registration at 7:30 am and the seminar from 8:00 to 10:00 am. Bring your questions and try to stump our panel!

The State of The Economy in a Presidential Election Year
Sponsored by Fulton Bank of NJ, we will be meeting at Adelphia’s in Deptford for an evening of networking. Fulton/Clairmont will have an economist in to talk about where the economy is heading, how the election will affect the economy, and how this relates back to our industry. Registration is tentatively scheduled to begin at 5:00 with the speaker beginning at 5:30. There will be dinner and drinks afterwards.

Sales and Use Tax: Back to the Basics, Documentation and Practice
An afternoon meeting at Adelphia’s in Deptford, with a networking hour afterwards with appetizers and drinks. We will have accountants from Cowen Gunteski to speak about the complications specific to the Construction Industry. Capital Improvements vs Tax Exempt, proper documentation from the property owner or general contractor. Are Safety Items tax exempt? What about equipment repairs? Landscaping? Issue the correct forms to your vendors to ensure your company does not pay sales tax it doesn’t have to. Differentiate between “Consumed on the Job” and “Used on the Job”. We will also address a few issues with crossing state lines for our multi-state contractors. If you buy stone in NJ and use it on a PA project, do you owe use tax in PA? Bring your questions and real world situations, as well as your accounting staff. Registration is at 3:30, seminar begins at 4:00 pm.
