Protecting Your Rights:  Change Orders,

Claims, Lien Law and Bond Rights

We have all been there.  The 2nd Tier Subcontractor wondering why they are not getting paid.  The General Contractor trying to get their final retainage monies from the Owner.  You do not want to ruffle any feathers, but the days on the calendar are flying by with no sign of invoices being paid.  How long do you have to file a lien or bond claim?  Can you file a lien on change orders?  Can you file a bond claim on change orders?  Alternatively, you cannot pay your subcontractor because you are not paid.  They file a lien or bond claim and per your contract, you have to defend it.  Are you "pay when paid" or "pay if paid" and what difference does that make to my claim?

Presented by Archer and Greiner P.C., this seminar will help you understand your rights whether you are a General Contractors, a Tiered Subcontractor or a Material Supplier.  Bring your questions and share your experiences.

We welcome anyone interested in learning more about the South Jersey Chapter of CFMA to come out and join us for this presentation.

This event will provide 2 CPE credits if the field of specialized knowledge and applications for CPA's licensed in NJ and PA.  This is a group - live course at the basic level.  No prerequisites or advanced preparation is required.
