Today’s construction financial leader is continuously asked to do more, to think differently about their role as leaders. This session will look at the importance of culture through three distinct lenses while addressing key areas faced by most construction firms including silos and lack of collaboration, resistance to change, and talent retention, development and recruitment.

Learning Objectives

  • Explore best practices in leadership development and hear real-world examples of how talent retention and recruitment are leading some firms toward success, and sinking others.
  • Understand how to identify a “legacy culture” and how the intersection of longstanding and new employees is leading to siloed culture pockets, creating a resistance to change, and becoming a barrier to success.
  • As construction projects involve many department, learn how the new skills of the CFM can bridge the gaps between departments and become a catalyst for success.
  • Explore examples of how some CFMs have taken the lead on traditional cultural projects including revisiting mission, vision, and value, to help redefine their culture in an everchanging environment.
