Construction Companies and Cyber Security

Nov 3, 2021 - 3:30 PM (ET) - Adelphia's Restaurant
Hosted by South Jersey, Deptford, NJ

About this Event

October is Cyber Security Month so you have probably had a few invitations to Cyber Security Seminars.

What makes this one different and a must-attend seminar for CFMA Members, your Accounting Staff, and your Owners?

It is 100% from the CONTRACTOR’S PERSPECTIVE!

Cyber Security is not One-Size-Fits-All. It is not the same from Industry to Industry. In reality, it is not even the same from one segment of the construction industry to another segment. So, let’s talk about your company and your cyber security needs. Let’s discuss internal and external risks.

Kimberly Hullfish, CCIFP, CRIS, MBA, will talk about real situations and real solutions for construction companies, from small to medium and large. Owners and Decision Makers for IT Solutions should attend and will leave with the questions to ask their accounting staff and their IT consultant or employee. CFO’s, Controllers, and the Accounting Team will learn when to ask questions, how to protect their workspace, and how controls in any size accounting office can help minimize risk.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Why the Construction Industry is Ripe for Cyber Attacks and what we can do to minimize risk.
  2. How various controls can be put in place even if your company is too small to have a true separation of duties.
  3. Banking Services that can help minimize risk, how they can work within your company, and questions you should ask your relationship manager.
  4. Cyber Risks come from internal and external threats. What are these threats and how do you minimize them?
  5. Questions every Owner should be asking their agent about cyber coverage and where coverage may exist for various cyber-crimes.

All of this is from the Contractor’s Perspective. Please bring your stories. We learn by sharing!
